about the artist
I’m a contemporary abstract artist whose inspiration is drawn from the coastal landscapes and tropical life of southern Florida. I’m also an avid photographer, continually exploring the overlooked and uncommon and use my photography as a reference point to transform my vision from camera lens to painted canvas. My creative process taps into the unique and unexpected, which is at the very heart of my passion for painting.
I hail from the hills of eastern Kentucky and the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia, and received my undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University. I spent my career in the Washington D.C. area as a consultant in the information technology industry. I now live on the southeastern coast of Florida in beautiful Jupiter where I now continue my artistic and creative journey.
inspiration and process
I create abstract mixed media compositions using acrylic, oil, ink, watercolor, and collage that echo my visual experiences in daily life. I think of my art as a way of bringing the outside to the inside with the power of color, the contemplation of movement and shape, and the interest of texture. My artwork feeds my soul daily, and my hope is that it adds something special to your life, speaking to you as it does to me, giving you a visual pick-me-up that evokes joy, peace, escape, and a colorful interpretation that is unique to you.
